Sam and Linda Dumcum (nee Cho)

Associate Pastors -

Sam and Linda Dumcum have been happily married since July 2008. They are totally in love with Jesus and desperate to see God move in this generation. Having pastored young adults for over 7 years, Sam & Linda are committed to spreading the Father's love, healing of the heart and the power of the Holy Spirit to young adults and families in Toronto and all over the world!Sam is a dynamic man of God, gifted in leadership, ingenuity and creativity. After chasing a childhood Olympic dream of figure skating into his teenage years, Sam entered the US Marine Corps in 2000 and was honourably discharged as a Sergeant in 2004. A natural athlete, Sam pursued road bike racing and became a champion in Duathalon placing 2nd in the USA in 2006. God called him back to Canada in the Fall of that year where he met Linda. Sam graduated from the TACF School of Ministry in 2007 and became an official part of the TACF pastoral team in the Fall of 2008. Linda is a passionate lover of God and people ever since being radically changed by the Father's love. An effective and gifted speaker, Linda started out as a shy young lady who had a deep desire for more of God. After graduating from TACF School of Ministry in 2002, under the leadership of Duncan & Kate Smith, Linda was part of starting TACF's first offical young adult program in 2003. Then in 2005 planted and co-pastored TACF Central (Young Adult focused congregation) and has been a apart of the TACF pastoral team ever since. Linda's passion comes out whenever she has an opportunity to share her life story, of how the Father's love can transform a heart full of pain into a wellspring of abundant life.Sam and Linda met in Ottawa, the Fall of 2006, during a week at the National House of Prayer led by 4 My Canada featuring 25 young adults from across the country to meet over 40 Canadian MPs and Senators to share vision for social justice and righteousness in Canada. Needless to say, sparks flew and the rest is their story. In 2007 Sam and Linda planted and pastored TACF North York until Fall of 2009 and are now serving on the Pastoral team with Steve & Sandra Long at TACF Airport. Sam and Linda are passionate about raising up world-class leaders and passionate lovers of God through cell groups, leading in TACF Encounter Weekends, teaching on School of Champions, planning Youth & Young Adult Conferences - Freshwind and Heavy Rain, speaking and traveling with Catch The Fire Ministries on mission trips as well as conferences and leadership training schools. Sam and Linda are overwhelmed by Heavenly Daddy's love and just can't seem to stay quiet about it!!Sam still loves riding his bike fast and dreaming big. Linda enjoys frequenting Tea Cafes with good friends and is determined to start boxing again.

Hey North Yorkers,

Last week we had a spectacular service!!!  Linda spoke an amazing message on Identity, and how it is through our intimacy with him that we find out true identity.  When we know who we truly are in Christ, the whole world opens up to us.  It was so good!!!

This week we have Cathy Harris who is one of the Directors at the School of Ministry!  She is an amazing teacher and will probably preach our faces off.

You guys need to get to church this week!!!

Hey North York!

I hope you are all doing well and continuing to grow with God and in community with each other.  As a cell leader here at TACF North York, I can’t tell you just how much you’re all so loved and appreciated in our church body.  We want you to know that you are all awesome and we love having each of you as a part of our cool North-Toronto community!

Anyway, enough of my mushy-gushy stuff…  Didn’t Sam have an awesome message on Sunday?  He talked about Responsibility and how as Christians, living to be like Jesus, we’re all called to be people who step up and take responsibility.  I know that I’ve had things come up this week where God has called me to do what’s right and responsible and charitable, above what’s easy and maybe seems to serve me better.  Some of these things are going to come at a cost to me, but I know that God is taking care of me and my faith is in him.  I know that regardless of the sacrifices I make to do what’s right and responsible, that God is supporting me, and he’s proud of me.
Can I encourage you to take some time in prayer over the next few days to talk to Holy Spirit about responsibility?  I know that sometimes I need Holy Spirit to remind me and gently push me towards the right choice so that I’m not just going with the flow of what my flesh wants or what’s easiest for me.  God will always take care of us, and we have nothing to fear in taking responsibility.  Remember how Sam talked about when Jesus would take responsibility, how God would meet the need for him?  Like when he fed the 5000 (+) and God multiplied the fish and the bread (Matt.
14:13-21). God is the same for us, and I can’t wait to hear stories of how God’s come through for you when you’ve come through for him (he loves that).

Have a blessed rest of your week
North York!

Hey North York,

Knowing God, experiencing His presence, going deeper into His heart, becoming ONE with the Father, pressing in, being surrounded by His glory, commanding His Kingdom to reign on this earth through signs, wonders & miracles, to see Him face to face, to be overwhelmed by His love, to have MORE and MORE and MORE of Him...

Words cannot describe.

This is why we are on a Media Fast from May 17th to 24th. If you haven't been on yet, it is not too late to jump in! So often media takes our attention and sucks our time, time we would be spending with the Lord and with our friends, family, building relationships. Sam and I have been in major withdrawal, but since we've started the Fast, we have been so much more sensitive to the Holy Spirit, we've played games together, walked in the park...all things that would have been sucked away in the vortex of DVDs and cell phone games. Ask God what are some of the things holding you back from grabbing a hold of more?! When our fists are full of junk, He can't pour in more of Himself. Let's open up our hands, empty it of the things of this world, and take a deep drink of the Holy Spirit.

We love you North York. This is an exciting two weeks. Get desperate. Ask Holy Spirit to make us desperate to be desperate for more of Him...because, I know know about you...but I need to see REVIVAL at TACF NORTH YORK!!

Kingdom of God COME! Will of God be DONE!

With all our hearts,
Your Pastoral Team

Hey North York!

Have you been honouring those around you? Last Sunday our senior pastor, Sandra Long, challenged us – nay – DARED us to honour someone else in our lives, just as Ruth honoured Naomi (Ruth 1). You can get this message at download.tacf.org/youth. It is uncanny how we can never out-give God. When you lay your life down for someone else, God gives you everything and so much more back. As I have been meditating on Sandra’s message, it came to me how Ruth honoured her mother-in-law and in that gave up her chance to re-marry and live her life again. However, God turned everything around, not only gave her a nobleman, full of integrity, as her husband, but she and Naomi prospered for the rest of their lives. And when we read Matthew Chapter 1, we realize that Ruth became the great great grandmother to King David, who is the ancestor to our Savour Jesus Christ! So awesome!

If you haven't honoured someone yet this week, take a leap and tell someone how they’ve made a difference in your life and in this world.

This week we have our very own Melissa Ninaber speaking. This will be her official last week as she is engaged to be married to Jonathan Boerger who is a part of
TACF Central’s pastoral team...so come and let’s honour Melissa and send her off with all of God’s blessings and love!

Speaking of love, we love you

Hey North Yorkers!

It’s that time again – you friendly, informative, hopefully encouraging, delightfully intriguing weekly update! God is so good! Last Sunday was the 1st week we were able to meet in the “big room”. His presence is still so sweet and it’s great having a larger space to dance and express our worship to Jesus! The newly engaged Ruth Davis gave an incredibly powerful word on Thankfulness, one that’s been challenging me since – it’s a must-listen-to – download.tacf.org/youth if you haven’t heard it yet.

This Sunday is Mother’s Day and we’ve got our mama, Sandra Long, speaking with us on the Mother Heart of God...it is going to be a heart message that is long overdue at TACF North York – so bring your moms and we will see you this Sunday. Also, our worship pastor, Jon Long, has informed me that for the 1st time in TACF North York’s history, we will have a FULL BAND for worship, including a drumset and bass! David says in Psalms to “enter His gates with thanksgiving and into His courts with PRAISE!” Though he may have been talking about the tambourine and lyre, we have drums and bass to express our praise and adoration to the King of kings!

Very importantly, this THURSDAY (ie. Tomorrow) is our Ministry Worker’s Night – which is an appreciation meeting for all those who volunteer and serve in our body. So all cell leaders, bucket holders, greeters, Powerpointers...if you have served in any area of ministry at TACF North York, this night is for you...you will be joined with other ministry workers from our 8 campuses and will be blessed by our guest speaker, Mark Stibbe from the UK! Don’t miss out!

Jon Long’s Interesting Fact of the Week: The first product that Sony came out with was the rice cooker.
