SUMMARY:VA - Nut Grafting Workshop
DESCRIPTION:Learn the basics behind grafting and practice yourself at the Bedford County Virginia Cooperative Extension Building\, with\, Jared Quesenberry\, on Saturday\, March\, 15th. \nApart from grafting\, there will be time to meet with fellow chestnut enthusiasts and citizen scientists! \nJared Quesenberry will be demonstrating techniques to graft American chestnut scion onto germinated nut rootstock. In particular\, he will show hypocotyl and epicotyl nut graft techniques. We hope that others will also exchange ideas and their methods. Jared plans to bring supplies to allow each participant the opportunity to do their own grafting. If you have a grafting knife or scion wood you have collected\, feel free to bring it. \nParticipation will be capped at 20 participants so please RSVP here.
