SUMMARY:Clements Tree Nursery (Mason County)
DESCRIPTION:There are two chestnut orchards at the WV State Tree Nursery in Mason County. The younger orchard was planted in 1990 and there are many trees that are not productive.  The nursery has only one full-time and one part-time personnel\, so they need a great deal of assistance.  The plan is to rouge (cut) non-productive trees\, and haul them to burn piles.  This can be a family affair as kids can drag limbs to piles.  This is a large project\, so the more help the better.  Be prepared to spend a good portion of the day\, so bring lunch and drinks.  Rest rooms are available at the site. The nursery address is 624 Forestry Drive\, West Columbia\, WV (Mason County). Clements nursery is located across the Ohio River from Pomeroy\, OH\, a few miles from Wahama (WV) High School The phone number for the nursery is 304-575-1820. \nBring along a chain saw (gas and oil)\, if you have one and/or tree saws to cut trees/limbs. \nFor more information\, contact Mark Double (mdouble1@hotmail.com) and/or 304-319-1317.
