SUMMARY:Help Inoculate Dam Orchard - June 22
DESCRIPTION:Where:  The Dam Orchard\, 8031 Great Run Lane\, Warrenton\, Virginia \nWhen: Thursday\, June 22nd\, 9:00 AM \nWhat: Please bring water \, lunch\,  snacks\, sunblock and dress for the weather (I think it’s supposed to be nice\, maybe late afternoon sprinkles). The work to be fun and not at all difficult. \nNote: If you have a cordless drill w/ batteries and don’t mind bringing it\, please bring it. \nWe will be continuing to inoculate the main trunks of the trees (to screen our backcross trees for variations in blight resistance – this is followed by selections for blight resistance over the next few years\, the best of the best will be used for future breeding work). We are also conducting experimental inoculations on lateral branches in an effort to study different methods for assessing resistance among our potentially resistant backcross trees – pretty cool.
