DESCRIPTION:“Where have the giants gone?” Workshop for Families and Children – part of the Earth Day Birthday event at Millbrook Marsh – (20 minute presentation and hands on component) \n\nJoin Sara Fitzsimmons\, Director of Restoraton for The American Chestnut Foundation (TACF) to learn the  the story of the Mighty Giants who once towered over our Eastern forest. The American chestnut once accounted for a quarter of the Appalachian woods. They grew to 100 feet and provided habit and food to humans and wildlife. What caused them to disappear and how can we bring them back? Attendees will have the opportunity to plant their own American chestnut seed to take home\, while supplies last.
