SUMMARY:2018 Winter Naturalists Rally
DESCRIPTION:TACF’s Southern Regional Science Coordinator\, Ben Jarrett\, will be one of four speakers at the 2018 Winter Naturalist Rally on Saturday\, February 17 at Roan Mountain State Park. This 11th annual event attracts nature enthusiasts from far and wide and celebrates the natural world. Ben’s talk is at 9:30AM and he plans to speak about the historical significance of the American chestnut\, the chestnut blight and subsequent downfall of the species\, and TACF’s ongoing restoration efforts. \nOther activities at the rally include four different hiking options for participants that will follow a lunchtime presentation.  If you plan to attend the lunch\, reservations must be made by Tuesday\, February 13.
