DESCRIPTION:Please join us for the Annual Meeting of the VT/NH Chapter of The American Chestnut Foundation on Saturday\, May 11\, 2024\, from 9-1 at the Tracy Memorial Library\, 304 Main Street\, New London\, NH. \nAnnual business meeting is 9-10 (all members welcome). \nThe program is from 10-1\, including lunch. \nProgram topics include: \n\nPlanting strategies while waiting for a blight-tolerant transgenic tree to replace Darling 58\,\nA presentation by Consulting Forester\, Charlie Moreno\, from southern NH on his experience and recommendations for out-planting chestnut trees on private land\,\nA panel discussion with the New London Conservation Commission (a long time TACF member)\, led by President Bob Brown\, about the concept of the VT/NH Chapter resourcing local conservation commissions with planting materials\, supplies and expertise.\n\nFollowing lunch\, Bob and the New London Conservation Commission will take interested attendees to see their local efforts\, including chestnut plantings from previous years. \nWe hope you will join us!
