DESCRIPTION:The Asheville Museum of Science (AMOS) announces the fall line-up of the museum’s Science Pub series\, a free monthly science event. Hosted at The Collider\, the Fall 2017 line-up includes speakers from NCEI\, The American Chestnut Foundation\, UNC Asheville\, and the Sustainable Appalachian Viticulture Institute. \nOn October 20 at 6:30pm\, TACF’s Director of Science\, Dr. Jared Westbrook will give a talk on “Saving the American Chestnut: Introducing Disease Resistance to One of America’s Most Beloved Trees.” \nScience Pubs are one Friday a month and take place at The Collider in downtown Asheville\, on the top floor of the Wells Fargo building at 1 Haywood Street. Lite bites are provided by Ingles Markets\, and beverages are provided by Asheville Brewing Alliance. Doors open at 5:30pm and the program begins at 6:30pm.
