Join us September 15 from 11:30AM – 1:00PM (EDT), for TACF’s next LIVE Chestnut Chat. TACF’s Chief Conservation Officer Sara Fitzsimmons and SUNY-ESF’s American Chestnut Research and Restoration Project researcher Andy Newhouse, along with others, will share the latest updates about the current status of the Darling 58 transgenic American chestnut. There has been a lot of excitement around the potential release of this tree, and recent regulatory delays and additional restrictions for distribution may reduce the ability for everyone to get seed, seedlings, or pollen as swiftly as originally hoped. In this Chestnut Chat, we’ll go through some frequently asked questions, then give participants an opportunity to ask their own questions related to Darling 58.
TACF is expecting more than 900 people to join us for this Chestnut Chat. This will be a record attendance, and we appreciate the significant amount of interest in this topic. While everyone who joins will be able to watch and hear the chat, only the first 500 will be able to participate in the question and chat feature. To help make this a streamlined process, we ask that you submit your questions here so we can organize and address as many of them as possible.
