Every volunteer makes a difference but when individuals work together on a project the impact is magnified. Over the course of a week, we were able to plant 8,000 nuts for the Raystown and Penn State Orchards. Many thanks to the volunteers who joined our staff in planting nuts this past March including: Julia Herbst (pictured here), Larry Broadbent, Joe Gyekis, Joe’s son Henry age 4, and members of the Raystown Restoration Branch of the American Chestnut Foundation.
