Up and down the East coast TACF volunteers are harvesting chestnuts from our orchards and test plots. It is a prickly business but the rewards stretch far
into the future with the promise of a resistant American chestnut to benefit future generations. The return of this American native seems a long way off, but it will get here.
Thank you to all the volunteers and staff of TACF here in Pennsylvania and New Jersey and in every Chapter, who have given their time this fall to this important work.
When your tasks are hard and your rewards are few, remember and take heart: the great Castanea dentata was once just a nut like you.
