Harvest Burs at Fortune’s Cove

Everyone loves harvest. Please come out and help. We will harvest and process burs all day.
Tentatively we are planning on Monday, September 16th at 9:00 am (that day may change slightly based on bur development, but that date is probable).
Stay tuned for other local events coming up. Fall fieldwork is gearing up, so there will be plenty of fun and interesting things to do!

From Charlottesville, take US-29 S to State Rte 718 in Lovingston. Follow State Rte 718 for 1.6 miles and turn right onto State Rte 651. Go another 1.6 miles and you’ll be right outside the orchard. When you see the entrance to the TNC Natural Area you are almost there. Continue up the road that looks like someone’s personal driveway to a gate (keep going) the orchard is just up the dirt road.
