Planting in Independence VA

Join us to plant 150 chestnut seedlings near Independence, VA!
If we are going to save the American chestnut, we’ll need help planting LOTS of them! We’ll either be planting trees or nuts, using shovels, post-hole augers, and/or other hand tools. Come prepared to work in field or forest conditions; wear appropriate clothing and solid closed-toe shoes (no Crocs, sorry!).
Planting will be on Friday, Nov 7th (weather permitting) and will begin around 8am. Please bring a shovel, gloves, water, and lunch.
