Bright, sunny skies welcomed visitors to the Rowlesburg Chestnut Festival in Preston County, WV. The festival, held October 13, 2019, featured visitors not only from West Virginia, but also from Maryland, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Virginia, Washington DC and Colorado. Vendors sold chestnut furniture, honey, books and chestnut seedlings. The WV chapter meeting was held from noon-2:30 and an hour-long scientific session was held from 4:00-5:00 featuring Dr. Sunshine Brosi from Frostburg State University and Tom Saielli, TACF’s mid-Atlantic regional coordinator. The banquet featured songs by the Preston High School Madrigal singers, the crowning of Mr. and Ms. Chestnut, Rob Eckenrode and Amy Metheny and a keynote address by storyteller, Rex Mann from Kentucky.
