Unity College in Unity, Maine presents a talk about American chestnut restoration at 12:00PM, Thursday, April 18 at its student center. Dr. Allison Oakes, post-doctoral research associate at State University of New York College of Environmental Sciences and Forestry (SUNY-ESF), will be speaking about the ecological and economic importance of the American chestnut, the fungus that attacks it, and how genetic engineering is being used to bring it back.
