TACF’s 2018 seed distribution has come to a close. On Thursday, March 1, staff from the National office in Asheville joined the gang at Meadowview Research Farms in Virginia to send 500+ boxes of potentially blight-resistant (PBR) seeds to our seed-level members. The crew at Meadowview was prepared with nearly 4,000 seeds prepackaged and ready to be boxed. With tape gun at hand and the assembly line formed, the team sent the PBR seeds off to their new homes.
These seeds are a product of more than three decades of scientific research and a benefit of seed-level membership. TACF’s seed-level members play a crucial role in our organization by caring for the seeds and observing the characteristics of the hybrids.
TACF would like to thank all of our 2018 seed-level members – your support is invaluable! We are now working on the 2019 seed distribution list. Become a seed-level member and be a part of our mission to return the iconic American chestnut to its native range. Visit this page on our website to learn more.
