See It, Snap It, Share It—Now Through December 31, 2026!
Ready to turn your love of the outdoors into bragging rights? The American Chestnut Photo Contest is back for 2026, and we want your best shots of this iconic tree and its hybrids. Bring your camera along on your hikes and adventures, because you never know when the perfect moment will arrive.
Maybe you’ll witness a chipmunk making a daring getaway with a spiny chestnut bur, a close-up of a germinating chestnut, or chestnut leaves blanketed in tufts of snow. These are only a few examples of the numerous ways to capture the tree’s beauty, character, and resilience in every season.
The first-place winner’s photo will be featured on the cover of a future issue of Chestnut magazine, receive a one-year TACF Seed Level membership (a $300 value!), and acquire some rocking TACF Merchandise. Second and third place winners will receive TACF swag to proudly show their love of chestnuts. All winners will be recognized in the 2027 Spring/Summer issue of Chestnut.

How to Enter & Contest Terms
Submit your photos to gro.fcat@snoitacinummoc.
All entries must:
- Be submitted digitally via email or a link to a cloud drive by December 31, 2026
- Feature or be related to the American chestnut
- Be at least 2400 x 3000 pixels (7.6 MB) and in JPEG or TIFF format
- Include the photographer’s name and contact information
- Contain a full caption with subject names, location, and title
- Be limited to five photos per entrant
- Be previously unpublished and not entered in another contest
