Published December 30, 2021

ME-TACF Chapter’s Tom Klak, professor in the School of Marine and Environmental Programs at the University of New England (UNE), has partnered with Sweet Cream Dairy in Biddeford, ME to release a chestnut ice cream for the third year in a row. This partnership between TACF, UNE, and local business Sweet Cream has been incredibly successful in previous years, with the chestnut ice cream selling out very quickly. The collaboration was featured in an evening segment from News Center Maine in early December 2021. Read the full article by UNE’s Christopher Rose to learn how the project came to fruition and Klak’s hopes to inspire interest in American chestnut restoration.
