VA- Chestnut Planting, Falling Creek Park, Bedford County

The Bedford Area Master Gardeners Association (BAMGA) in partnership with Virginia Cooperative Extension, and Bedford County Parks and Rec have collaborated with the VA Chapter TACF to plant a demonstration plot of a dozen backcross hybrid chestnuts, plus one wild type American Chestnut for comparison. The chestnut plot is intended to educate park patrons and stimulate interest in chestnut restoration.
