Hemlockfest 2018 Nov. 2-4!!

The 14th annual HemlockFest music festival will be held on November 2-4 2018 in Dahlonega, Georgia. This environmental fundraising event features three days of live music, camping, children’s activities, canoeing, local arts and crafts, nature walks and information sessions, and much more. In addition to supporting research to preserve Eastern Hemlocks, Hemlockfest also supports restoration of the American Chestnut. The Georgia Chapter of the American Chestnut Foundation has received donations of $39,000 in HemlockFest proceeds over the last two years. GATACF volunteers will be present at the event to increase public awareness and recruit new chapter members.

HemlockFest is an all volunteer event sponsored by the Lumpkin Coalition, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization based in Dahlonega. GATACF members are encouraged to volunteer at HemlockFest. There are a variety of ways to help out. Volunteers may sign up for shift times through the HemlockFest website on the volunteer page, link below. For anyone interested getting involved with the planning and organizing HemlockFest, there are several areas where our members could contribute. For more information, contact Jack Rogers at moc.liamg@731rsprpj.

Part of this round of work included weed control and part was maintenance of the electric deer fence. ... See MoreSee Less
