From Thursday though Sunday, February 23rd through 26th, the CT Flower show is Hartford's big event. A “momentary bloom” in winter's last icy grip, the show provides an opportunity for the chapter to reach throngs of gardners who might not otherwise attend a chapter meeting.
The chapter's display was coordinated by event chair Nancy Cebik, who arranged details from schedule to arrival of displays and pamphlets. Special thanks to Nancy, and also to all the chapter members who attended and volunteered their time at the display.
My slot was middle of the day Saturday – a perfect time since the crowds were at their peak. The display attracted a steady stream of people interested in our mission. I had a great time visiting with strangers and making new friends. The Overlap with Pat van de Kamp provided a nice opportunity for the two of us to catch up.
Pat van de Kamp and Sydney Adamsen share a quiet moment at the CT Flower Show.
