Volunteer Opportunities

Outreach – we have several outreach events coming up later this month and in April.  If you would like to help us spread our message to the public at any of these events please contact us.

Outreach Coordinator – we are in need of a member to help coordinate volunteers and supplies for our outreach events.

Germplasm Comittee – we are looking to form a committee of members throughout CT willing to search for new sources of American chestnut germplasm and follow up on reports from the public.  Committee members will learn how to obtain and preserve a leaf and stem sample and submit it, with other pertinent information to our Regional Science Coordinator.

Board Membership – If you would like to become more involved at the chapter level in helping to organize and lead our events and fulfill our mission, please contact us.  Nominations need to be submitted by our Nominating Committee by March 15th.

If you are interested in helping our chapter in any of the positions listed above, please contact us at gro.fca@retpahCTC

I believe I have a few resistant chestnut trees that have produced their second crop of seeds . They are descendants of those once in living in .Valley Garden Park

The American Chestnut Foundation. If we don't figure out the tree of heaven problem then we won't have anything but ailanthus altissima and your research will be a waste.

Send me few, I'll plant them
