Links to a movie created from a time-lapse sequence of photos are included at the bottom of this article. Friend of long standing and Renaissance man Joe Aronson, of the Catskills region of NY, recently sent me these time-lapse photos of a chestnut (probably sativa) growing over a several week period in 2002. The first of the photos in the film were taken at approximately 12 hour intervals, and following slide 19, at 24 hour intervals. The photos are numbered 1 through 41 and include the date and time stamped in the upper left corner. While I could probably do a better job of color balance and registration, the effect is quite impressive yet, and I thank Joe Aronson for his considerate gift of letting us share this plant's first few weeks of life. If someone has ideas on how to improve the movie, I would welcome hearing from them.
