The Woodbridge chestnut orchard has had a very productive spring, with the April 21st planting, and the second annual visit by local elementary students. The planting, carried out by Orchard Manager Dr. Phil Arnold, along with CT-TACF members Robert Gregg, Joe Calistro, and Brian Pistolese added 149 nuts from the Manchester backcross line to the orchard. The orchard now contains 261 backcross hybrid chestnuts from two local mother trees. The nuts planted last year have grown into small trees, averaging, at the end of last year's growing season, 15
