Stamford Museum & Nature Center continued their special partnership with the American Chestnut Foundation (TACF) during “Take a Hike” week. On Wednesday, April 18, TACF Regional Science Coordinator, Leila Pinchot and Volunteer Pat van de Kamp assisted Nature Center Staff in planting American chestnut seeds in the research grove at the Nature Center. The research grove was established in 2004, to help nurture the growth of blight-resistant American chestnut trees, and restore them to forests in the eastern United States.
